How do I find a reliable CCTV installer in Dubai who will not overcharge me?

A price range of AED 1,800 to AED 5,500 for the same number of CCTV cameras reflects genuine differences in camera quality, recording systems, cabling standards, and post-installation support. Here is how to evaluate them. First, get each company to specify the exact camera model and DVR or NVR model in writing. This allows you to compare like for like. A vague quote for 'HD cameras' could mean anything from basic 1080p to 4K with night vision and wide dynamic range. The difference in real-world performance, especially in Dubai's contrast between bright daylight and dark evenings, is significant. Ask about the recording system. A solid DVR or NVR with sufficient storage for your needs (typically 30 days of footage) matters. Some cheap quotes include cloud-only storage with ongoing subscription costs that make the total cost of ownership much higher. Cabling quality matters in Dubai's climate. External cabling exposed to UV and heat will degrade quickly if low-grade cable is used. Ask specifically what cable type is used for external runs. Verify their trade licence. Ask for the number and check it. An unlicensed installer has no accountability. Ask about warranty and after-sales support. What happens if a camera fails in six months? A reputable company will replace it at no charge under warranty. Get this in writing. Insist on seeing the remote viewing setup working on your phone before the engineer leaves. The AED 1,800 quote in your example is almost certainly budget cameras with minimal support. The AED 5,500 quote may or may not be justified. Three quotes allows you to identify the middle ground with confidence. Post your CCTV project on BidMyJob.ae to get quotes from vetted installers in Dubai.
