How much does it cost to install a home gym in a Dubai villa?

Setting up a home gym room in a Dubai villa typically costs AED 5,000–AED 20,000 for the fit-out (excluding equipment), depending on the flooring specification, mirror coverage, and built-in storage.

The main components and costs:

Rubber flooring: interlocking rubber tiles (20–25mm thick) are the standard for a home gym — they protect the floor, absorb impact, and are easy to clean. For a medium-sized room (around 20–25 sqm), expect AED 1,500–AED 3,500 for supply and installation. Rolls are available for larger continuous areas. Ensure the tiles are high-density rubber, not foam EVA — EVA compresses under heavy equipment.

Wall mirrors: full-height gym mirrors typically cost AED 150–AED 300 per square metre for glass supply and fitting. For a wall of mirrors covering 4–5 metres width, budget AED 2,000–AED 5,000 depending on the installation method (framed vs frameless, wall-mounted vs track-hung).

Built-in storage: a simple wall-mounted shelving and hook system for equipment costs AED 800–AED 3,000 depending on specification. Custom joinery storage (drawers, cabinets) is AED 3,000–AED 8,000.

Practical considerations: ensure the room has adequate AC capacity before filling it with equipment — a person working out generates significant heat and a standard bedroom AC unit may struggle. Also check the flooring beneath the rubber tiles is level, as uneven concrete under rubber can cause tiles to shift under heavy equipment.
