Types of Pool Fencing Available in Dubai
Glass pool fencing is the most popular option in Dubai villas for its aesthetic appeal and unobstructed views. Frameless glass panels or semi-frameless glass with stainless steel posts are both widely available. Aluminium pool fencing is a more affordable alternative with many colour and style options. Safety mesh fencing is a lower-cost option specifically designed for child safety, using fine mesh panels that are difficult to climb and can be removed when children are not present.
Pool Fence Installation Costs in Dubai
Safety mesh pool fencing costs AED 80 to AED 150 per linear metre installed. Aluminium pool fencing costs AED 200 to AED 400 per linear metre. Semi-frameless glass pool fencing costs AED 500 to AED 900 per linear metre. Frameless structural glass pool fencing costs AED 800 to AED 1,500 per linear metre. A standard villa pool perimeter of 25 to 35 linear metres typically costs AED 2,500 to AED 50,000 depending on fencing type chosen.
Safety Standards for Pool Fencing in Dubai
Pool fencing in Dubai should meet basic safety criteria including a minimum height of 1.2 metres, no horizontal bars that children can use as foot or hand holds, a self-closing self-latching gate that opens outward away from the pool, and no gaps larger than 10cm. These are safety best practices even where not formally mandated for private residential pools.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is pool fencing compulsory in Dubai villas?+
There is currently no blanket legal requirement for pool fencing in private Dubai villa gardens, but it is strongly recommended for households with young children. Some newer villa developments and developers include pool fencing requirements in community rules. Check your community guidelines and prioritise safety regardless of mandatory requirements.
What is the best pool fence for a Dubai villa?+
Frameless glass pool fencing is the most popular choice in premium Dubai villas as it provides child safety without obstructing the garden view. It is also durable, low maintenance, and suits the contemporary aesthetics of most Dubai villa gardens. For budget-conscious families, safety mesh fencing provides effective child protection at much lower cost.
How long does pool fence installation take in Dubai?+
A glass pool fence installation for a standard villa pool takes 1 to 2 days including post drilling, panel installation, and gate fitting. Safety mesh and aluminium fencing typically installs in half a day to a full day. Post holes require drilling into the pool deck, so the pool must be empty or the drilling area protected during installation.
